Venice 2011

For the 23rd edition of this gathering, over 150 worldwide friends of the HUJ met in Venice to attend the European Conference focused this year on the theme of Love and the Song of Songs.

Workshops presented and debated by renowned international experts from the fields of Literature, Music, Philosophy, Sociology and Religion gave a unique insight on the Song of Songs and allowed the Friends a wide approach and comprehension of this one of a kind book of Love.

The 4-day gathering also offered participants fascinating guided tours of the Venice Ghetto, museums of Contemporary Art and the Biennale exhibition.

Prestigious venues such as the Fenice Theater hosted the Friends for a beautiful welcome reception entertained by the performances of Soprano Brett Kroeger as well as for a concert of Brahms and Schubert symphonies under the direction of Maestro Myung-Whun Chung.

Supported by the Mayor of Venice, local political figures and the HUJ Friends, the European Conference was applauded, once again, as an outstanding event.
