The European Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem - Who we are

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem established in 1925 has friends associations in almost all the main cities in Western Europe.

These local associations whose members are Jewish and non Jewish alike, support The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel’s foremost center of higher education and research, through P.R, friend raising and fund raising activities.

The European Friends has established a European Council in 2001. This council was established to promote communication and coordination between the different Friends Associations in Europe. The European Council is also in charge of launching projects and initiatives for the Hebrew University on the European level.

Since its creation, the Council is headed by a lay leader. Mrs. Nathalie Berrebi who had actively participated to the creation of this European Council was its President from 2000 to 2009.

She was replaced by Mrs. Nilly Sikorsky from Geneva in 2009.
